Naladi’s Story

I am Naladi Thwala’s mother. She was diagnosed with trisomy 21 at birth and is currently 10 months old. We faced many challenges at Mpilo Hospital when trying to book an echo scan, mainly because the pediatric specialist who was based there left the hospital.

Then we heard about MMF, and when we went there, we were welcomed with open arms. My daughter was immediately booked for an echo, which she had with Dr. Thatha. We are now waiting for another one in January when she will be 12 months old. Because of MMF, she has also started physiotherapy, and she has been attending these sessions regularly.

There is so much MMF has promised to help us with, and they have truly given us hope for our children and us as parents. We are so grateful for everything they are doing for us. MMF provides us with support, medicine, and the opportunity to meet other parents to share our journeys, so we don’t feel alone in this world.
